A lot of your hiphop rapper came out of back in the day….

Ll cool j, kurtis blow, q-tip ,also the home of the first group ever
to put a rapper on a record...the fat back band…. And that’s just
to name a few….

I was there when hiphop started I was part of it…. I was one of
the few dj’s who spent most of my day searching for the perfect
beat to play at the next party…. The beat no one else had…. The
one I would mark out the name so no one knew who it was…..
Why did we do it??? Who would have thought what we where
doing for fun would become a way of life for billions of people….
Who made it a culture???? All we did was set up some turntables
and played at the park for some rep…. Those where the days…
when dj’s bring there equipment to the park….

Everyone had a place by an outlet… 3 maybe 4 dj’s set up for the
night…. No one making any money…. Just doing it…. First dj
there goes first…. He’ll play for a few hr’s... then the next…. then
the next… before you know it it’s 2 o’clock in the morning time to
pack all this equipment up…. Our stack of speakers stood at least

10 feet high 9 feet wide…. Do you get the picture….

That’s hiphop in it’s purist form…. It’s about the art of making a
beat….
